Glóin, Dwarf Emissary
Legendary Creature — Dwarf Advisor
Whenever you cast a historic spell, create a Treasure token. This ability triggers only once each turn. (Artifacts, legendaries, and Sagas are historic.), Sacrifice a Treasure: Goad target creature. (Until your next turn, that creature attacks each combat if able and attacks a player other than you if able.)

Glóin, Dwarf Emissary puts a Treasure on the table every time a Dwarf you control deals combat damage to a player — repeatable mana generation stapled to a creature type with serious tribal support. The cost is that it does nothing without attackers connecting, which makes it a must-answer threat rather than a passive engine.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Magda, Brazen Outlaw

Knuckles the Echidna
Knuckles the Echidna rewards aggressive combat, and Glóin, Dwarf Emissary turns every successful attack into a mana advantage that compounds over a long game.

Shanid, Sleepers' Scourge
Shanid, Sleepers' Scourge cares about legendary permanents, and Glóin, Dwarf Emissary is a legendary Dwarf that pays you back in Treasures each time the legends in your deck push through damage.

Lara Croft, Tomb Raider
Lara Croft, Tomb Raider runs on Clue and artifact synergies, and Glóin, Dwarf Emissary adds Treasure generation to the artifact-token pile without requiring any extra investment beyond swinging.

Balthier and Fran
Balthier and Fran reward artifact token creation, so Glóin, Dwarf Emissary's combat-damage Treasures slot cleanly into that shell as a self-funding attacker.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is the obvious home for Glóin, Dwarf Emissary — the Dwarf tribal infrastructure, the long game where repeated Treasure generation compounds, and the legendary supertype all point here. In Legacy and Vintage, it's legal but competes with far more efficient mana generation and has no meaningful tribal support in those formats, so it won't see play. Modern has Dwarf synergies but the format's speed means a three-mana creature that requires combat damage to generate value is too slow to matter competitively. Oathbreaker could theoretically support it in a Dwarf-aggressive build, but Commander is where Glóin, Dwarf Emissary earns its slot.

Pricing data for Glóin, Dwarf Emissary isn't available at this time — check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for a current figure. Given its narrow tribal focus and demand driven almost entirely by Magda, Brazen Outlaw decks, it tends to move with that commander's popularity rather than on its own merit.
