Gift of Wrath lands a creature with +2/+2, menace, and a free Shock stapled to its death — all for four mana. It's a fine limited card and a bulk Commander inclusion at best; the effect is real but too slow and too narrow to compete with premium aura or equipment slots.

Gift of Wrath is a draft-format card that occasionally moonlights elsewhere. In Commander, four mana for a temporary pump aura is a tough sell — you're competing against Swiftfoot Boots, Lightning Greaves, and a dozen equipment pieces that do more with less. Pauper is where Gift of Wrath has the most plausible home, since the card pool is shallow enough that a self-replacing aura with upside clears the bar in aggressive or aura-focused builds. In Modern, Pioneer, Legacy, and Vintage, the effect is simply too slow and too low-impact to see serious play.

Price Context
Current price
$0.09 bulk tier
At $0.09, Gift of Wrath is deep bulk — pick it out of a commons box, not a singles order. Bulk commons essentially never appreciate, so there's no financial angle here beyond grabbing a playset for pennies if the effect fits your build.
