Ghoulflesh is a one-mana enchantment that slaps -1/-2 on a creature and gives it mountainwalk, which is a niche downside effect that rarely affects the board in any meaningful way. Unless your meta runs heavy red mana or you're specifically hate-drafting, this is a bottom-tier aura with almost no competitive application.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Ghoulflesh is almost never correct — the mountainwalk clause is a blank in most games, and -1/-2 for one mana doesn't answer threats at the power level EDH tables demand. Pauper is the one format where Ghoulflesh has occasionally earned a fringe look, since the common-only card pool makes cheap auras more competitive and black aggro decks sometimes find use for incremental debuffs. In Legacy and Vintage, it doesn't exist as a consideration — the card simply doesn't do enough. Ghoulflesh is legal across most formats but relevant in almost none of them.

$0.04 bulk tier
At $0.04, Ghoulflesh is deep bulk — you're buying it out of a bargain bin, not a singles list. It holds no financial value and won't appreciate; pick it up only if a specific deck actually needs it.
