Gaea's Bounty puts two basic Forests directly onto the battlefield — that's real mana acceleration, not just fixing. Three mana for two lands is a worse rate than Cultivate or Kodama's Reach, and the Forest restriction makes it unplayable in anything that isn't heavily green.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is the only format where Gaea's Bounty sees any real play, and even there it sits near the bottom of the ramp pile — Cultivate and Kodama's Reach do the same thing at the same cost without the Forest-only restriction. In Pauper, where the common constraint matters, it's legal but rarely run because two-mana ramp like Rampant Growth is just cleaner. Legacy and Vintage are non-starters; no competitive deck is casting a three-mana sorcery to find basic lands.

Price Context
Current price
$0.17 bulk tier
At $0.17, Gaea's Bounty is deep bulk — the price reflects its limited demand rather than any scarcity. It holds that floor indefinitely; nothing about the card's power level pushes it higher.
