Future Flight grants a creature flying and unblockability until end of turn for two mana — a clean evasion package, but it's a one-shot sorcery-speed effect with no lasting board presence. Run it only in decks that win the turn they cast it, because it does nothing if the creature dies before damage.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Future Flight is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but realistically it only sees play in Commander, where a single unblockable swing at 21 commander damage can close a game. Legacy and Vintage have far more efficient ways to push damage through, so Future Flight never appears in those formats competitively. In Commander, it fits narrowest in voltron strategies where one big hit is the entire plan — outside that context, the two mana buys very little.

Price Context
Current price
$1.05 cheap tier
At $1.05, Future Flight sits at the low end of the cheap tier — affordable enough that price is never the reason to skip it. Demand is narrow enough that the price is unlikely to move in either direction meaningfully, so buy it if the deck wants it and ignore it otherwise.
