Fruit of Tizerus card art
Fruit of Tizerus puts a permanent -1/-1 on a creature and replaces itself in hand — that's the whole deal, and it's a narrow rate. The only reason to run it over dozens of better options is that Wheel of Sun and Moon or a similar replacement-effect engine turns the cycling into a loop, making it a combo piece rather than a spell.

Format Analysis

Fruit of Tizerus is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but it doesn't pull weight in most of them. In Pauper and older eternal formats it occasionally surfaces in cycling-synergy or graveyard-replacement shells where the one-mana cycling cost matters at scale. Commander is where it actually finds a home, specifically in decks that abuse replacement effects or need a cheap, recurrable spell to fuel storm counts, drain triggers, or loop conditions — outside that context it's a filler card in any format.

Price Context

Current price

$0.06 bulk tier

At $0.06, Fruit of Tizerus is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not the card. It holds no monetary value and never will, but that's irrelevant: the only question is whether it fits your combo, and if it does, the cost is negligible.
