Founding of Omashu is a Commander card through and through — the life gain accrues over a long game, the combat upside matters when games go sideways, and five-mana land activations are tolerable when turns stretch into the double digits. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but irrelevant; no competitive shell wants a tapped dual that asks for five mana to trade up. Commander is the one format where Founding of Omashu earns a genuine look, particularly in Boros or multicolor landfall decks that want extra basics-with-upside.
