Foriysian Totem is a three-mana rock that taps for one colorless and can animate into a 4/4 trampler — slow, expensive to activate, and replaceable by almost any two-mana ramp piece in the format. The only reason to run it is in a specific deck that cares about artifacts becoming creatures, and even there, better options exist.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Foriysian Totem is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but it sees no meaningful play in any of them. In Legacy and Vintage, a three-mana do-little artifact is not a serious consideration. In Modern, two-mana ramp and efficient utility artifacts crowd it out entirely. Commander is its only realistic home, and even there Foriysian Totem competes against a deep pool of strictly better rocks — Thought Vessel, Mind Stone, and Fellwar Stone all cost less and do more without requiring six additional mana to become relevant in combat.

Price Context
Current price
$0.33 bulk tier
At $0.33, Foriysian Totem sits firmly in bulk territory, and that price reflects its power level accurately. Demand is too low to expect upward movement — pick it up only if a specific deck needs it, and don't expect the copy in your trade binder to gain value.
