Field of Reality bounces a nonland permanent at instant speed for two mana — clean, flexible, and repeatable if you have blink synergies in play. The ceiling jumps dramatically alongside Displacer Kitten, where every noncreature spell you cast can retrigger the bounce for free.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Field of Reality does its best work — the format's multiplayer politics reward instant-speed interaction, and the card's ability to reset an opponent's combo piece or save your own creature from removal is consistently useful. In Pauper it's a legal and reasonable tempo play, though the format moves fast enough that two mana at instant speed is only medium. Legacy and Vintage are both legal but won't touch Field of Reality; the power floor in those formats is far too high for a bounce spell at this rate.

$0.08 bulk tier
At $0.08, Field of Reality is deep bulk — it costs less than a sleeve. That price is stable by definition; there's no demand pressure to push it up unless a combo breakout makes headlines.
