Field of Dreams locks every player into playing with the top card of their library face-up, turning hidden information into public knowledge at zero mana cost. That symmetry is the catch — it only pulls ahead when your deck is built to exploit what opponents reveal.
Format Analysis

In Commander, Field of Dreams is a stax-adjacent piece that rewards decks built around top-of-library manipulation — Sensei's Divining Top, scry effects, and topdeck tutors all get stronger when you already know what's sitting there. Legacy is the only other format where it sees any meaningful play, slotting into prison and tempo shells that want to slow the game down and profit from information asymmetry. Vintage has the raw card power to make the symmetry irrelevant, but Field of Dreams rarely competes with the format's broken staples for a slot. Modern, Pioneer, Standard, and Pauper are all off the table — it's simply not legal.

Pricing data for Field of Dreams isn't currently available in the index, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for a live number before buying. It has historically commanded a premium as a Reserved List card with genuine stax applications, so expect the price to reflect collector demand on top of gameplay utility.
