Fate Forgotten exiles an artifact or enchantment — no graveyard recursion, no regeneration, gone — for three mana at instant speed. The problem is that three mana for a single-target removal spell is a rate Commander has long since passed by.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|

| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Fate Forgotten competes in the most crowded slot in the format: three-mana instant-speed removal, where Generous Gift and Return to Dust both do more for the same or similar investment. Exile is genuinely relevant against recursive threats, but that alone doesn't justify the slot. In Pauper, where the card pool is constrained, it becomes more defensible — cheap exile at common is harder to come by, and the format's slower pace makes three mana less painful. Everywhere else — Legacy, Vintage, Modern, Pioneer — Fate Forgotten is simply outclassed and sees no meaningful play.

Price Context
Current price
$0.09 bulk tier
At $0.09, Fate Forgotten is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not the effect. That price is a ceiling, not a floor; there's no meaningful demand driver that would push it higher.
