False Prophet is a rattlesnake that cashes out into a board wipe — opponents either leave it alone or trigger it by removing it, and both outcomes work in your favor. A 2/2 flying body for four mana is unimpressive, but the deterrent effect and the Wrath on death make it one of the most efficient threat-taxes white runs in Commander.

False Prophet is a Commander card through and through — the multiplayer dynamic is exactly what makes the threat credible, since at least one opponent usually has a removal spell and the political calculus of who blinks first adds real tension. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but sees no play; four mana for a 2/2 with a conditional board wipe can't compete in formats where the game is often decided by turn two or three. Commander and Oathbreaker are the only homes where False Prophet earns its slot, and in Commander specifically the four-player table means the wipe threatens all three opponents simultaneously, multiplying the deterrent far beyond what it could achieve in a duel.

Pricing data isn't available in the current feed for False Prophet, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for a live number before buying. Given its age, single-printing status, and niche-but-real Commander demand, it tends to sit in the $1–$4 range — cheap enough to pick up on spec if you're building a blink or pillow-fort shell.
