Face of Divinity card art
Face of Divinity gives a white creature +2/+2, first strike, and lifelink for two mana — that's a lot of stats on one Aura. The catch is it only works on creatures that are already enchanted, which ties it tightly to decks built around stacking Auras rather than running it as a standalone buff.

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Light-Paws, Emperor's Voice

Light-Paws, Emperor's Voice

33.4% of decks · synergy 0.31

Light-Paws, Emperor's Voice tutors Face of Divinity directly onto itself every time you cast another Aura, and once it has two Auras in play the bonus activates — making this a reliable source of first strike and lifelink on a commander that already wants to be suited up.

02
Bruna, Light of Alabaster

Bruna, Light of Alabaster

24.8% of decks · synergy 0.24

Bruna, Light of Alabaster pulls Auras from everywhere and attaches them for free on attack, so Face of Divinity lands without spending a card and immediately upgrades a creature that's already wearing other enchantments.

03
Pearl-Ear, Imperial Advisor

Pearl-Ear, Imperial Advisor

17.9% of decks · synergy 0.16

Pearl-Ear, Imperial Advisor cares about Foxes and tokens but runs enough Aura density to satisfy Face of Divinity's condition, and the first strike plus lifelink combination is especially relevant when you're attacking with a wide board.

Format Analysis

FormatVerdict

oathbreaker

Face of Divinity is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but it sees meaningful play almost exclusively in Commander. In Legacy and Vintage the card is too slow and conditional to compete — Aura-based strategies don't have the redundancy or protection to survive those environments. Modern has Aura decks, but Face of Divinity's requirement that the creature already be enchanted makes it a weak second Aura rather than a first, and stronger options exist. Commander is where it belongs: slower games, dedicated Aura commanders, and multiple enchantments on one creature are the norm rather than the exception.

Price Context

Current price

$0.16 bulk tier

At $0.16, Face of Divinity is deep bulk — you're not paying anything meaningful for a card that does genuine work in the right shell. Bulk Auras at this price point don't hold or gain value, but that's irrelevant; you're buying it to play it, and the cost of entry is essentially zero.
