In Commander, Eyeblight Assassin earns its slot only in dedicated Elf tribal decks that repeatedly flicker or reanimate it — Lathril, Blade of the Elves or Tyvar Kell shells where the enter-the-battlefield trigger compounds. Outside that niche, three mana for a single -1/-1 counter doesn't clear the bar when the format runs Deadly Dispute and Skullclamp to generate real value.
