Extra Arms doubles a creature's combat output by giving it an additional attack trigger — stapled onto a creature that already swings, that's immediate, on-board pressure without any setup. The four-mana equip cost is steep, but the effect is repeatable and stacks with any attack-trigger payoff you're already running.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is the correct home for Extra Arms — long games mean the equip cost amortizes, and attack-trigger commanders like Aurelia, the Warleader or Isshin, Two Heavens as One turn the additional attack into a full extra combat's worth of value every turn. Legacy and Vintage are legal but uninterested; four mana for a conditional combat effect doesn't compete with the efficiency those formats demand. Oathbreaker is legal and occasionally relevant if your planeswalker shell cares about repeated attack triggers, but the card earns its slot in Commander and essentially nowhere else.

Price Context
Current price
$0.23 bulk tier
At $0.23, Extra Arms is firmly bulk — you're paying almost nothing for a repeatable effect that would cost several multiples more if it were an instant or sorcery. Bulk rares with narrow applications tend to stay at this floor, so don't expect price movement either direction.
