Expedite gives a creature haste and replaces itself for one mana — that's the whole pitch, and it's enough. In Zada, Hedron Grinder decks it copies to every creature you control, turning a cantrip into a full hand refill while your board swings the same turn it lands.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Zada, Hedron Grinder
Expedite is one of Zada, Hedron Grinder's best spells: cast it targeting Zada and every creature on your board gets haste while you draw a card for each of them, routinely drawing five to ten cards for one mana.

Feather, the Redeemed
Feather, the Redeemed returns Expedite to hand at end of turn, letting you recast it every turn cycle for a fresh card draw and a haste grant — it's a repeatable cantrip that costs one mana each loop.

The Howling Abomination
The Howling Abomination triggers on spells cast, so Expedite pulls double duty: it draws a card, grants haste to push through damage, and increments the spell count that powers the commander's own abilities.
Urabrask
Urabrask gives your creatures haste already, but Expedite still earns its slot by being a one-mana cantrip that fuels spell-count payoffs and keeps your hand from emptying in aggressive red builds.

Rionya, Fire Dancer
Rionya, Fire Dancer counts instants and sorceries cast each turn to determine how many tokens she creates at end of combat, so Expedite is a free increment on that counter that also draws a card and hastens a threat.

Expedite is a bulk role-player, not a format staple, and its home is clearly Commander. In Pauper it sees fringe play in storm-adjacent or Kiln Fiend-style decks where a one-mana cantrip that also grants haste can close a game, but it rarely makes the cut over spells with more raw damage output. Modern and Legacy have access to a deeper cantrip pool, and Expedite's effect isn't powerful enough to compete there outside of dedicated spell-count engines. In Commander, the math flips entirely once Zada, Hedron Grinder or Feather, the Redeemed is in the command zone — at that point Expedite is among the most efficient cards in the deck.

Price Context
Current price
$0.28 bulk tier
At $0.28, Expedite is firmly bulk — buy a playset without thinking about it. The price is stable; it's been reprinted enough that supply keeps it at the floor, and nothing about its demand profile suggests upward movement.
