Erosion is a three-mana blue enchantment that attaches to a land and forces its controller to pay one blue mana or sacrifice it at each upkeep — a slow, grinding tax that is best understood as soft land destruction on a repeating timer. It sees almost no competitive play because it requires the opponent to have a blue-producing land, telegraphs its threat immediately, and can be answered before it ever triggers.

Erosion is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but it rarely earns a slot in any of them. In Commander, the effect is too narrow — it targets a single land, takes a full turn cycle to threaten anything, and does nothing if your opponent simply pays the blue mana. Legacy and Vintage have far more efficient land disruption available, so Erosion never competes. Pauper is the most plausible home, where slow enchantment-based control strategies exist, but even there the card demands the target land tap for blue, which limits its targets considerably.
