Elite Interceptor // Rejoinder puts a vigilant, first-striking flier on the board that can tap opposing creatures, then flips into a spell that deals damage equal to an untapped creature's power — two real effects stapled together for four mana. The package is a fine role-player in dedicated tap-synergy shells, and Dual Casting turns the Rejoinder side into a two-for-one removal event, but outside those specific contexts it's too slow and too narrow for most tables.

Brigid, Clachan's Heart
Brigid, Clachan's Heart rewards every tapping creature you control, so Elite Interceptor // Rejoinder earns its slot twice: the front side is an on-theme tap outlet that triggers Brigid's anthem effect, and Rejoinder converts that same creature's power into direct damage when the situation calls for it.

In Commander, Elite Interceptor // Rejoinder is a niche piece — it belongs in Brigid, Clachan's Heart and similar tap-matters builds where the front half does real work, and almost nowhere else. Competitive and high-power tables will ignore it entirely; the four-mana investment buys a tap effect that doesn't close games fast enough. In 60-card formats it's not a factor — Pioneer, Modern, and Legacy all have strictly better options at every point on the curve. Pauper is the one format where cheap double-faced cards with two distinct modes get a second look, but even there Elite Interceptor // Rejoinder is too conditional to see consistent play.
