Echoes of the Kin Tree

Commander is where Echoes of the Kin Tree actually lives — longer games, wider boards, and the prevalence of +1/+1 counter commanders mean the card generates outsized value at essentially no cost. In competitive formats like Modern and Legacy it's a non-starter: one mana per trigger is too slow against decks that win on turn three, and there are no battlecruiser games to compound the value across. Pioneer sits in the same boat — legal but irrelevant outside of fringe kitchen-table builds. Oathbreaker is the one non-Commander 60-card adjacent format where Echoes of the Kin Tree could see real play, since planeswalker-plus-signature-spell shells occasionally support proliferate synergies at a slower pace.
