Commander is where Echo of Dusk does its best work, specifically in typal decks that mix creature types — Slivers, Shapeshifters, or five-color tribal brews that deliberately stack multiple types. In 60-card formats like Modern and Pioneer, the card draw ceiling is high but the setup cost is steep; dedicated tribal builds tend to run one type and push synergy over variety, so Echo of Dusk usually loses out to cheaper, unconditional draw spells.
