Durable Handicraft puts a +1/+1 counter on every creature you cast for a single green mana upfront, then offers a mana sink to turn that counter engine into a board-wide anthem when you need to close a game. Two mana to activate the finisher clause is steep as a repeatable effect, but the passive trigger is the real reason to run it.

Durable Handicraft is a Commander card through and through — the passive trigger scales with the volume of creatures you cast over a long game, and the anthem ability is a late-game mana dump that rewards boards full of countered-up creatures. In Modern or Pioneer it's too slow and too low-impact to compete with dedicated counter synergies that do more for less. Legacy and Vintage have the raw efficiency to make it irrelevant before the trigger ever matters. Oathbreaker can support it in creature-heavy shells, but the format's faster pace limits how much work Durable Handicraft gets to do.
