Dollhouse of Horrors turns every creature that dies in your graveyard into a future threat, manufacturing 2/2 Construct tokens on a repeatable, artifact-based engine that opponents have to answer twice. The cost in mana and setup is real — you're paying to activate it each turn — but in a graveyard-matters shell like Ayara, First of Locthwain, the payoff compounds fast enough to justify the slot.

Dollhouse of Horrors is a Commander card at heart — the slow, incremental value it generates is exactly what a 100-card singleton format rewards, and creature-heavy graveyard strategies have the density to keep it firing every turn. In Modern and Legacy, the five-mana artifact investment is too slow and too easy to interact with at instant speed, and dedicated reanimation or recursion packages do the job more efficiently. Pioneer gives it a slightly more forgiving field, but the same fundamental problem applies — it asks too much mana over too many turns when faster threats dominate. Stick to Commander, where the inevitability it creates becomes a genuine closing engine.

Price data for Dollhouse of Horrors isn't currently available in our system, so check Scryfall or TCGplayer for the latest figures before picking one up. It's a casual Commander staple rather than a competitive constructed piece, which historically keeps its ceiling modest — the kind of card worth grabbing as a cheap addition rather than a significant budget commitment.
