Divine Transformation turns any creature into a 3/3 — cheap to cast at three mana, but it replaces the creature's power and toughness rather than adding to them, which means it's actively worse on anything already bigger than a 3/3. Hard pass outside of dedicated token or weenie strategies where the ceiling is actually a ceiling.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Divine Transformation is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, and that's essentially where the conversation ends — Modern, Pioneer, Standard, and Pauper all exclude it. In Commander, it sees fringe play in white weenie or token builds where a 1/1 becoming a 3/3 matters, but white has better Aura support and better stat-pumping options at every price point. Legacy and Vintage have no interest: three mana for a conditional creature pump that doesn't interact with the stack is far below the power floor those formats demand.

Price Context
Current price
$0.25 bulk tier
At $0.25, Divine Transformation is bulk — you're not paying for power, you're paying for availability. Bulk rares rarely climb without a reprint or competitive breakout, and neither scenario is realistic here.
