In Commander, Dismantling Blow is a reasonable inclusion in decks that can reliably kick it — the two-card draw turns removal into card advantage, which is exactly how you stay ahead in a four-player game. In Legacy and Vintage the competition is brutal: Swords to Plowshares, Force of Will, and dedicated artifact hate like Null Rod make a six-mana removal spell essentially unplayable, and even the three-mana unkicked mode loses to Disenchant or Naturalize on raw efficiency. Pauper is the format where Dismantling Blow is most at home, since card advantage is scarce at common and the kicked mode genuinely outperforms most of the removal available at that rarity. Modern's card quality is too high for it to see play — Prismatic Ending and March of Otherworldly Light handle permanents more efficiently. Stick to Commander and Pauper.
