Desolation Giant

In Commander, Desolation Giant earns a slot specifically in reanimator and blink shells that want to fire the trigger repeatedly without ever paying kicker — free recurrence makes it one-sided every time. Outside those shells, it's a five-mana sorcery-speed wipe that leaves commanders alive and asks you to sacrifice nothing, which is underpowered relative to Blasphemous Act or Hour of Devastation. In Legacy and Vintage it has never found a home; the rate is too slow and the effect too conditional for those formats. Modern is technically legal but functionally irrelevant — creature-based strategies there fold to sweepers that cost less and don't require a build-around to avoid self-destruction.
