Dark Privilege keeps a creature alive and drains life to do it — indestructible is real protection, and the upkeep cost is a feature in sacrifice-matters decks, not a bug. Pair it with Brandywine Farmer or any other creature that wants to die repeatedly and the "cost" becomes a trigger; slap it on Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker's board and you've got a recursive engine with a built-in life tax your opponents can't easily interact with.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker
Dark Privilege is one of the most-played cards in Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker decks for good reason — Shirei returns creatures with power 1 or less that die, and Dark Privilege's upkeep sacrifice feeds that loop while making Shirei herself nearly impossible to kill.

Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder
Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder generates Thrulls that need to be sacrificed before they accumulate and destroy him, and Dark Privilege turns that mandatory sacrifice pressure into a controlled outlet while keeping Endrek protected from combat and spot removal.
Format Analysis

Dark Privilege sees virtually all its play in Commander, where Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker and similar sacrifice-value commanders give the upkeep cost a purpose rather than a penalty. In Pauper it's technically legal but competes with far more efficient protection and sacrifice payoffs at common, so it rarely shows up. Legacy and Vintage have access to the full card pool and simply don't need a three-mana enchantment to generate sacrifice triggers when faster engines exist. Commander is the only format where Dark Privilege earns its slot.

Pricing data for Dark Privilege isn't currently available, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for the current market rate. It's an old, niche card with narrow demand concentrated in Shirei builds, which typically keeps the price low — but print run and availability can push copies above expectations, so verify before buying.
