In Commander, Daggerback Basilisk is a role-player, not a headliner — it belongs in Fynn, the Fangbearer lists that need cheap deathtouch bodies to fuel the poison engine. Outside of that specific niche, a 1/2 for two does very little in a 40-life format. In Pauper, deathtouch on a common is genuinely useful as a roadblock, but the creature's stats keep it fringe.
