In Commander, Déjà Vu is a role-player in spellslinger builds — three mana to replay a counterspell, a tutor, or a board wipe is a reasonable rate, and it scales up sharply with cost-reduction commanders. In Pauper, where the common card pool prizes efficient recursion, it competes in slow control shells that can afford the sorcery-speed constraint. Legacy and Vintage have access to Snapcaster Mage and Yawgmoth's Will, which do the same job faster and with fewer restrictions, so Déjà Vu doesn't see play there. Oathbreaker mirrors the Commander calculus — it's live in any signature-spell-heavy build looking for graveyard reach on a budget.
