Cursed Flesh gives a target creature -1/-1 and fear until end of turn for a single black mana — functional, cheap removal-light pressure, but narrow enough that it rarely makes the cut in competitive lists. It's a fine common for Limited and Pauper but gets outclassed quickly anywhere tutor-level card quality matters.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Cursed Flesh is a bulk common that sees its most legitimate play in Pauper, where the common-only card pool makes a one-mana debuff with evasion stapling marginally more relevant. In Commander, it's essentially unplayable — single-target, temporary, and drawing no card means it trades down on resources in a four-player format where threats regenerate every turn cycle. Legacy and Vintage are legal but have no interest in it whatsoever; black has access to far more efficient interaction at every point on the curve. Oathbreaker gives it no new lease on life either.

Price Context
Current price
$0.16 bulk tier
At $0.16, Cursed Flesh is deep bulk — the kind of card you find in a common box at the bottom of a dealer table. There's no realistic path to price appreciation here; supply is abundant and competitive demand is essentially zero.
