Curse Artifact forces an opponent to sacrifice an artifact at their upkeep unless they take three damage — repeated, low-cost pressure that either destroys a key piece or drains them every turn. At three mana for an enchantment, it's the right price for a card that does real work without asking anything of you past the initial cast.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Curse Artifact earns its slot — artifacts are everywhere, and the threat of losing a Sol Ring, Thran Dynamo, or combo piece makes opponents choose between pain and sacrifice turn after turn. In Legacy and Vintage, faster clocks and more efficient disruption push it out of contention; you'd rather run Null Rod or Force of Will than a slow enchantment. Oathbreaker is legal but shares the same problem: the format moves too quickly for a card that asks for patience.

Current price
$0.84 bulk tier
At $0.84, Curse Artifact sits firmly in bulk territory — cheap enough that there's no reason to hesitate if the effect fits your build. Bulk enchantments with niche but real applications tend to stay flat, so don't expect movement in either direction.
