Crumbling Vestige card art
Crumbling Vestige enters tapped, produces one mana of any color the turn it arrives, then locks into colorless forever after — a one-shot fixing tool, not a long-term solution. It earns its slot in decks that desperately need color access on a specific turn, and commanders like Lumra, Bellow of the Woods that can recur or sacrifice lands for value turn that liability into a feature.

Lumra, Bellow of the Woods triggers off lands entering from the graveyard, so Crumbling Vestige becomes a repeatable resource rather than a throwaway — mill it, reanimate it, and cash in the color-fixing mana each time it re-enters.

In Commander, Crumbling Vestige fills a niche role in three- and four-color decks that need emergency fixing early and can tolerate a colorless land late, especially in landfall or graveyard-recursion shells where entering the battlefield is the whole point. In Pauper, where the land options are genuinely constrained, it competes for a slot in any multicolor shell that can't afford better fixing — the one-time color mana is real value at common. Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer all have strictly better options at minimal or no cost, so Crumbling Vestige doesn't see competitive play there. Vintage has no interest. The card's ceiling is the graveyard-loop niche in Commander; everywhere else it's a fallback.

Price Context

Current price

unknown tier

Pricing data isn't available at the moment, but Crumbling Vestige is a common with narrow appeal and no competitive demand, so expect it to be essentially bulk — under $0.25 at most retailers. Pick one up without thinking twice if a land-recursion or landfall build calls for it.
