Coveted Jewel enters and draws you three cards, then dares opponents to attack you for it — and in most games, they will. The threat of losing six mana and the card advantage lead is real, but Ghostly Flicker and commanders like Tannuk, Steadfast Second have turned that vulnerability into a repeatable engine.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Tannuk, Steadfast Second
Tannuk, Steadfast Second is built to flicker artifacts for value, and Coveted Jewel is the premier target — each bounce resets the draw-three trigger and keeps opponents from ever cashing in the theft clause.
Heliod, the Radiant Dawn
Heliod, the Radiant Dawn's ability to return enchantments and permanents from the graveyard pairs with Coveted Jewel's high-value entry effect, letting the deck recover the jewel after it changes hands and draw three again.

Gandalf the White
Gandalf the White triggers whenever a legendary spell is cast and rewards playing haymaker permanents — Coveted Jewel is exactly the kind of splashy artifact that fits the shell and keeps the hand full while the deck assembles its endgame.

Zidane, Tantalus Thief
Zidane, Tantalus Thief rewards stealing opponents' stuff, and Coveted Jewel is a magnet for that plan — opponents who swing for it hand Zidane exactly the kind of combat-oriented chaos the deck wants to exploit.

Orvar, the All-Form
Orvar, the All-Form copies any permanent you target with a spell, and copying Coveted Jewel draws three additional cards per copy — it's one of the highest-ceiling targets in the entire deck.

Coveted Jewel is a Commander card through and through — the political tension it creates only matters at a multiplayer table, where the theft clause punishes a single attacker while the rest of the table watches. In Legacy and Vintage, six mana for a draw-three with a downside is far too slow to matter, and no competitive list wants it. Oathbreaker can support it in the same way Commander does, particularly in flicker or artifact-matters builds. Outside those multiplayer formats, it simply doesn't exist.

Current price
$0.34 bulk tier
At $0.34, Coveted Jewel is bulk, which is surprising given how heavily it features in Tannuk and flicker builds. That price is unlikely to hold indefinitely if any of its host commanders spike in popularity — but right now it's a free pickup.
