Coral Net enchants a creature you don't control and destroys it the moment its controller taps a non-blue land — conditional removal that can sit as a permanent threat or fizzle entirely against the wrong manabase. Narrow enough that it rarely earns a slot outside very targeted hate builds.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Coral Net sees essentially no competitive play anywhere it's legal. In Commander, the condition — destroying a creature when its controller taps a non-blue land — is too unreliable against most four- and five-color decks where the trigger fires constantly, but those same decks run enough redundancy that losing one creature barely matters, and against mono-blue it does nothing at all. Legacy and Vintage have access to interactive cards that answer threats immediately and unconditionally; Coral Net's sorcery-speed-adjacent dependency on the opponent's land choices puts it below the threshold. Pauper is the one format where hyper-specific enchantment-based hate occasionally carves a niche, but even there, the green and red aggro decks it might target would rather see you spend that slot on something proactive.

Price Context
Current price
$0.13 bulk tier
At $0.13, Coral Net sits firmly in bulk territory — the kind of card that costs more to ship than to buy. Don't expect that to change; demand is too low and supply too plentiful for any meaningful price movement.
