Consuming Ferocity

Enchantment — Aura

Enchant non-Wall creature
Enchanted creature gets +1/+0.
At the beginning of your upkeep, put a +1/+0 counter on enchanted creature. If that creature has three or more +1/+0 counters on it, it deals damage equal to its power to its controller, then destroy that creature and it can't be regenerated.

Consuming Ferocity card art
Consuming Ferocity attaches to a creature and pumps it by +2/+2 each upkeep, converting a modest threat into a runaway one — but the enchanted creature is sacrificed when Consuming Ferocity leaves the battlefield, making the payoff conditional on keeping the Aura intact. It's a glass-cannon effect: explosive in a vacuum, fragile against any removal that answers enchantments.

oathbreaker

Consuming Ferocity is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but competitive play in Legacy and Vintage has no appetite for a slow, enchantment-dependent pump spell with a built-in downside. Commander is the only realistic home, and even there Consuming Ferocity competes against Auras that grant evasion, protection, or immediate impact rather than a cumulative bonus that requires surviving multiple turns. Oathbreaker could theoretically exploit it on a resilient voltron target, but the sacrifice clause remains a liability in any environment with enchantment removal.

Price Context

Current price

$0.14 bulk tier

At $0.14, Consuming Ferocity sits firmly in bulk territory and will stay there — demand is too narrow to push the price anywhere meaningful. It's a free inclusion in a budget Aura deck, but don't expect it to appreciate.
