Conqueror's Pledge

Commander is where Conqueror's Pledge earns its keep — token swarm strategies, aristocrats, and go-wide commanders all want the sheer headcount it provides, and the kicked version can close games outright alongside anthem effects or sacrifice outlets. In Legacy and Vintage, five mana for six vanilla 1/1s is nowhere near competitive, and kicking it is a fantasy against decks that win on turn one or two. Modern has enough efficient token producers that Conqueror's Pledge can't justify its spot in a format where Raise the Alarm and Spectral Procession exist at lower costs and higher tempo. Oathbreaker sits closest to Commander in pace, so the same logic applies — token-centric signatures can use it, especially when the format's lower starting life total makes a board flood more immediately threatening.
