Conflux puts five cards — one of each color — directly into your hand, which is one of the most explosive single-card refuels in Commander. Eight mana is steep, but in any five-color shell that can reach it, the effect is game-warping; Atemsis, All-Seeing in particular treats Conflux as a near-instant win condition by stacking six different mana values in hand.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Conflux is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but it only truly belongs in Commander. Eight mana at sorcery speed is unplayable in Legacy and Modern — formats where the game is usually over by turn four and a resolved Conflux would never recoup its investment. In Vintage, the unrestricted power level means faster routes to the same end exist. Commander is the natural home: games go long, five-color commanders are common, and tutoring five cards of five different colors in one spell is uniquely broken at a table where card advantage snowballs.

Price Context
Current price
$2.00 cheap tier
At $2.00, Conflux is cheap for what it does — a five-card tutor of this breadth would cost ten times more if it were half a mana cheaper. The price reflects its narrow playability rather than its power ceiling, so it's unlikely to spike unless a dominant five-color commander drives widespread demand.
