Conclave Equenaut is a 3/4 flyer with vigilance for five mana — respectable stats, but you're paying full retail unless you have enough creatures to trigger convoke. With a populated board it can land for two or three mana, which is where the card earns its slot.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Conclave Equenaut sees its most realistic play in Pauper, where convoke decks are an actual archetype and a cost-reduced 3/4 vigilance flyer pulls real weight at common rarity. In Commander, it's a fringe inclusion at best — token-heavy decks like Rhys the Redeemed or Jetmir, Nexus of Revels can convoke it out cheaply, but five-mana vanilla-adjacent bodies rarely make the cut in a 99-card format where competition is fierce. Legacy and Vintage are non-starters; Conclave Equenaut does nothing those formats can't ignore entirely.

Price Context
Current price
$0.12 bulk tier
At $0.12, Conclave Equenaut is deep bulk — the kind of card you pull from a common box without thinking twice. There's no financial upside here, but there's also no reason to hesitate if a convoke or token deck actually wants it.
