Commander is where Coalborn Entity has its best shot, slotting into landfall decks that already run fetchlands, bounce lands, or Amulet of Vigor effects to flood the board with tapped-land triggers. Legacy is technically legal but the competition at every mana cost is brutal, and no competitive Legacy archetype is looking for this effect. Vintage has the same problem at a higher power ceiling.
