Claim of Erebos turns each of your Zombies into a repeatable Drain Life — every attack drains one life from each opponent and pads your total by the same amount. At one black mana to enchant any Zombie you control, the setup cost is trivial; the payoff scales directly with how many opponents are at the table and how wide your board gets.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Claim of Erebos does its real work — four opponents means each trigger drains four life simultaneously, and a wide Zombie board can close games without ever swinging for lethal in combat. In Pauper it's legal and theoretically playable, but the format's pace rarely gives a one-creature enchantment time to generate meaningful value. Modern, Pioneer, Legacy, and Vintage all have access to it, but the effect is too slow and too conditional for any of those competitive contexts. Claim of Erebos is a Commander card in practice, regardless of how many 60-card formats tolerate it.

Price Context
Current price
$0.12 bulk tier
At $0.12, Claim of Erebos is deep bulk — the kind of card you pick up in a trade binder without thinking about it. Don't expect that to change; the effect is narrow enough that demand stays low even in Commander, where it's most at home.
