Case of the Burning Masks card art
Case of the Burning Masks gives each opponent a 3/2 Horror token and then, once you've attacked with three or more creatures, makes those tokens fight each other every upkeep — passable pressure, but the payoff is slow and the board state it creates actively helps opponents block you. At two mana this is affordable, but Commander tables run faster threats and better enchantments for the slot.

Case of the Burning Masks is legal across every major constructed format but sees essentially no play in any of them. In Commander, the token it hands each opponent is a liability — you're arming three or four players before the case even solves — and the fight trigger on solve requires you to already be attacking wide, at which point you probably don't need a slow enchantment grinding opponents down one fight at a time. In Pioneer and Modern, two mana buys far more immediate impact, and the case condition is too slow against anything proactive. Standard is its only realistic home, and even there it competes poorly with direct damage and creature-based aggression.

Price Context

Current price

$0.05 bulk tier

At $0.05, Case of the Burning Masks is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard and a sleeve. It won't gain value; the card sees no competitive play and has no obvious breakout synergy waiting in the wings.
