Broken Wings

In Commander, Broken Wings is a role-player in green decks that want one card to cover artifacts, enchantments, and evasive creatures rather than dedicating separate slots to each threat type — the instant speed is what separates it from Naturalize variants. In Pauper it competes in a removal-dense format where the three-mana cost is a real ask, but the breadth of targets keeps it in consideration over narrower options. In Modern and Pioneer, dedicated answers like Shenanigans or Wear // Tear are cheaper and more efficient, so Broken Wings rarely makes the cut outside of formats where commons dominate the card pool. Legacy and Vintage have access to Force of Vigor and other zero-cost options that make three mana feel steep regardless of flexibility.
