Bridge from Below generates a free 2/2 Zombie token every time one of your nontoken creatures dies — with no mana investment beyond getting it into your graveyard. The catch is that it exiles itself if an opponent's creature dies, but in dedicated self-mill shells like Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis it's simply one of the strongest free payoffs in the format, and Nether Traitor's shadow and haste make it one of the cleanest creatures to loop with it.

Bridge from Below carries one critical restriction: it exiles itself whenever an opponent's creature hits the graveyard, which in a four-player game means any sweeper or combat step can clean it up before you cash in. Modern banned it because graveyard decks there could combo off before opponents had meaningful interaction. Commander gives it a pass not because the restriction disappears — it's actually worse with three opponents threatening to trigger the exile clause — but because the 100-card singleton format rewards dedicated graveyard synergy enough that the upside in the right shell outweighs the fragility.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis
Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis mills aggressively and convokes creatures from the graveyard to cast itself repeatedly, which means Bridge from Below is triggering on nearly every turn cycle — the deck generates so many dying nontoken creatures that the Zombie flood becomes a legitimate secondary win condition.

Yawgmoth, Thran Physician
Yawgmoth, Thran Physician sacrifices creatures as a cost to draw cards and distribute -1/-1 counters, so Bridge from Below converts every sacrifice activation into a Zombie that can immediately be sacrificed again — the two cards form a value loop that scales with any undying creature already in the shell.

Current price
$0.61 bulk tier
At $0.61, Bridge from Below is firmly bulk — easy to pick up without a second thought. It's a niche card with a narrow home, so don't expect the price to move unless a new graveyard commander pushes it into wider circulation.
