Boundless Realms card art
Boundless Realms puts every basic land from your library onto the battlefield tapped — in a land-matters deck, that's often a ten-land swing in a single turn. The seven-mana cost is real, but Rootpath Purifier turns every land you run into a basic, and Omnath, Locus of Rage turns every one of those entering lands into a 5/5 elemental and a lightning bolt.

Best Commanders

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Omnath, Locus of Rage

Omnath, Locus of Rage

15.1% of decks · synergy 0.14

Omnath, Locus of Rage converts each land entering the battlefield into a 5/5 elemental token and deals 3 damage when any of them die, so a single Boundless Realms resolving with ten basics in the deck is effectively a lethal board state built from one card.

02
Phylath, World Sculptor

Phylath, World Sculptor

13.4% of decks · synergy 0.12

Phylath, World Sculptor creates a plant token for each basic land you control at the end of the turn it enters, which means Boundless Realms resolving mid-to-late game can flood the board with a dozen or more 0/1 plants that immediately start stacking +1/+1 counters.

03
Greensleeves, Maro-Sorcerer

Greensleeves, Maro-Sorcerer

11.4% of decks · synergy 0.09

Greensleeves, Maro-Sorcerer makes a 3/3 badger token each time a land enters under your control, so Boundless Realms landing eight basics in one shot produces eight 3/3s alongside a commander who scales in size with every land you now control.

04
Ashaya, Soul of the Wild

Ashaya, Soul of the Wild

11.1% of decks · synergy 0.08

Ashaya, Soul of the Wild makes your creatures count as Forests, so Boundless Realms inflates Ashaya's own power and toughness in addition to ramping — a full grip of basics entering the battlefield can push Ashaya into the 20/20 range on the spot.

Format Analysis

Where it lives, where it can’t

FormatVerdict
commander
legacy
modern
pioneer
standard
vintage
pauper
oathbreaker

Commander is where Boundless Realms earns its keep — the format's 100-card singleton construction means decks routinely run 36-plus lands, and a mid-game casting can easily fetch eight to twelve basics in one shot. In Legacy and Vintage, the card is technically legal but sees zero play; those formats don't tolerate seven-mana sorceries that don't end the game on the stack. Oathbreaker is the only other format where Boundless Realms is plausible, specifically in green land-matters shells that can assemble enough ramp to cast it before the game ends.

Price Context

Current price

$4.19 cheap tier

At $4.19, Boundless Realms sits at the high end of cheap — it's a single-printing mythic with a devoted audience in land-matters Commander builds, and that floor is unlikely to drop further. It's not a bulk rare you can ignore; budget it in when you're building Omnath or Phylath, and grab it rather than waiting.
