Bloodstone Cameo costs three mana to make two colors of mana and draw a card when it enters — that's a fine rate for Commander, but three-mana rocks that don't immediately accelerate you have real competition. It's a playable budget filler in two-color decks that need the color fixing and don't own better options.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is the only format where Bloodstone Cameo sees real play, and even there it sits at the lower end of the three-mana rock tier. The enter-the-battlefield draw replaces itself, which separates it from pure mana rocks like Darksteel Ingot, but three mana for one mana of acceleration is a tempo loss that faster tables punish. In Legacy and Vintage it's technically legal but entirely outclassed by Mox and two-mana alternatives — you will never want it there. Oathbreaker follows the same logic as Commander: acceptable in budget builds, quietly cut when the collection improves.

Price Context
Current price
$0.26 bulk tier
At $0.26, Bloodstone Cameo is deep bulk — you're buying it because nothing better is in the binder, not because it's a bargain on a premium effect. It holds that floor price without much movement; demand is low and supply is abundant.
