Bloodcrazed Hoplite is legal across every major format but lives almost entirely in Commander, where opponents regularly lose life counters through poison, energy drains, and triggered life-loss effects. In Pauper it's a legal inclusion but competes with more efficient two-drops that don't rely on a synergy condition to grow. Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer have no realistic shell for it — the ceiling is too low without a dedicated counter-manipulation engine. Commander is the only format where the Hoplite consistently gets to do its job.
