Bitter Revelation digs four cards deep and puts two in hand — the life loss is the price, and in Commander it's a rounding error. Passable in self-mill and reanimator builds, redundant everywhere else that has access to better four-mana draw.

Bitter Revelation lives in Commander and Pauper, and that's where the conversation starts and ends. In Commander, four-mana sorceries compete against Harmonize, Read the Bones, and Night's Whisper; Bitter Revelation's scry-2-draw-2 split is fine in self-mill shells where the cards going under matter as much as the cards coming to hand. In Pauper, the commons pool thins out fast and four-mana card selection is more defensible — reanimator and dredge-adjacent strategies will take it. Legacy, Modern, and Vintage have no reason to touch it; the formats move faster than a four-mana sorcery can keep up with.

Price Context
Current price
$0.08 bulk tier
At $0.08, Bitter Revelation is deep bulk — you're buying it out of a dollar box or a bulk lot, not seeking it out. That price is a floor with nowhere meaningful to go; run it if you own it, but don't spend thought chasing a copy.
