In Commander, Beastbreaker of Bala Ged earns a slot only in decks that specifically care about level counters or +1/+1 counter synergies — think Jenara, Asura of War or Ezuri, Claw of Progress builds that can accelerate the leveling clock. Outside that narrow context, a vanilla 4/4 trampler for the equivalent of eight mana spread over several turns is not a threat any table will fear. In Legacy and Vintage it's strictly unplayable — those formats operate on a speed and density of interaction that Beastbreaker cannot survive, let alone compete with.
