Battering Sliver gives every Sliver you control trample, turning a wide board into a damage engine that can't be chump-blocked into irrelevance. It's a five-mana do-nothing-on-entry, so it earns its slot only when The First Sliver or another token-generator is already threatening to flood the board.

The First Sliver
The First Sliver cascades into Battering Sliver off any Sliver cast, and once it lands, the entire army stops being stonewalled by a single 1/1 token — that's the difference between a lethal swing and a stalled board.

Battering Sliver is a tribal-only card, and that's exactly what it is in every format. In Commander, it's a role-player in Sliver decks that go wide and need to close games through chump-block walls. In Pauper, Slivers are a real archetype and trample is a meaningful keyword on a creature type that can share it at common. Legacy and Vintage have access to it but the five-mana cost is a non-starter in those formats — Sliver shells there move faster than turn five. Outside dedicated Sliver builds, Battering Sliver is irrelevant.

Price Context
Current price
$0.22 bulk tier
At $0.22, Battering Sliver is bulk — you're picking it out of a commons box, not tracking it on a buylist. Demand is narrow enough that the price is stable at the floor; it won't spike unless a competitive Sliver deck breaks out somewhere.
