Bathe in Light grants your entire team protection from a chosen color for one turn at instant speed — that's a full combat swing or a resolved board wipe nullified for two mana. It's one of the most efficient mass-protection spells in white, and any token or go-wide Commander deck should be running it.

In Commander, Bathe in Light is at its best because it scales with the token and go-wide strategies that dominate the format — one spell saves ten creatures for two mana at instant speed. Legacy and Vintage have access to it, but the faster clock and lower creature counts mean mass protection rarely pulls the weight it does in 100-card games. Modern is the only competitive non-rotating format where it could see fringe use in Humans or token shells, though Teferi's Protection and Heroic Intervention occupy most of that space. Outside of Commander, Bathe in Light is largely theoretical.
