Barrage of Expendables

In Commander, Barrage of Expendables earns its slot in any sacrifice or token deck that needs a low-cost, uncounterable damage outlet — the one mana upfront is trivial, and the enchantment type makes it harder to remove than an artifact equivalent. Competitive goblin and aristocrats builds treat it as redundancy: when Goblin Bombardment is already in the 99, Barrage of Expendables is a second copy of the effect, and having both in play is frequently how those decks close out multiple opponents in one turn. In Legacy and Vintage it sees essentially zero play — faster combo and interaction simply make a one-damage-per-creature outlet irrelevant at those power levels. Modern and Pioneer offer fringe homes in dedicated aristocrats shells, but Barrage of Expendables competes against stronger one-mana payoffs and rarely makes cuts.
